Maryland Blue Crab, Cooked
Image: ohad*.

Chances are, if you're near the water, you're near a place where people eat crabs. It doesn't matter what culture, from Japan to France, there is a place in the cuisine for everyone's favorite crustacean.
Above, you'll see some of our favorites, Maryland Blue Crabs; steamed and heavily seasoned with old bay, with some corn and beer on the side. For me, its the best way to eat crabs. But not everyone agrees. Click through to see how different cultures enjoy their crabs.

London transit

While everything in London is notoriously expensive, getting from place to place can eat up a particularly large chunk of your budget. After all, London is a large city, with lots to do, and a week's worth of cab rides, tube trips, and jaunts on the bus will leave you with little more than pocket change by the end. Check out our tips below that will help you keep your transportation budget in check.

toiletry bags

A good toiletry bag is an essential part of traveling well. Rather than finding the biggest one available, we prefer well-designed bags that not only hold our stuff but encourage us to lighten the load. We've selected some of our favorites below that we'd be happy to have by our side on our next trip.

In big cities, hotel rooms come at a price - both in space and price. London's hotel rooms are notoriously small, so why waste your money on a hole in the wall? We've dug up some ideas for alternative accommodations.

Dog on a road trip

Long road trips can take a lot out of you. As a kid, every year, twice a year, we'd book it for 7 hours straight to visit our grandparents in Pennsylvania. Highway after highway passed by without a single thing to do. Sure, we'd stop at road-side rest stops and fast-food joints, but otherwise we were glued to our seat.

light my fire spork

Product: Light My Fire Spork
Cost: $9.75
Rating:rating

When it comes to exciting travel gear, utensils aren't the first thing that come to mind. However, having your own eating tools when you're on the road can mean the difference between being able to fend for yourself, or having to drag yourself into a restaurant.
Today at Travellious Test Labs, I'm going to be reviewing the all-in-one eating tool, the Light My Fire Spork.

I've been meaning to try it out for a while, so when I saw one at REI, I bit the bullet and picked one up. In order to figure out whether I'd actually want to use it while I'm traveling, I've been using it every chance I get. From eating a salad, to slurping soup, it's been my trusty sidekick for the past week and a half. How did it hold up? Look below for the results.

Salt Pans in Peru
Image: dachalan.

Morton's salt this isn't. The natives in Peru have been using these salt pans, coupled with the naturally salty streams from the Andes, to produce salt for the past 600 years or so. When coupled with the natural beauty of the mountains, do you really have any excuse NOT to visit? Have any travel foodies had any of this unique ingredient?

sleeping on an airplane

We're no experts on this, in fact, at times we suck at it. But, with the more frequent flier miles we accumulate, the more we've realized there are a few rules of thumb to sleeping on an airplane. Here are our tips for making snoozing on a plane a little less painful. Keep in mind the four S's: supplies, space, shift, and submission.

It's that time of year again, so we're putting together a selection of great gifts for your favorite traveler, whether they're a first-time traveler or a seasoned backpacker. Today we're focusing on the urban traveler: the museum explorer, cafe eater, and lover of all things city.

London Tube

London. It's one of the most wonderful cities in the world, filled to the brim with things to do, see, eat and buy. It also has a world-class transit system, with many options to get you wherever you want to go. However, this incredible flexibility can also pose problems for travelers. How do you figure out what line should you take? What's the DLR? What direction do you need to go? Luckily, travelers, green and seasoned alike, can use a tool called TubeJP (Journey Planner) to get a handle on trekking around London.
