Gnocchi in Garbatella
Our trip to Italy took us back to Rome, and instead of staying near the tourist sites, we opted instead to stay in Garbatella, a lively neighborhood of winding streets and gorgeous architecture just south of the historic center (and highly recommended by Jessica of RomePhotoBlog.) Before we arrived, we were glued to the suggestions by Annalaura D'Errico of Spotted by Locals. She's a local and shares her favorite restaurants, sights, shops, and spots on the site. We didn't get a chance to meet her and personally thank her for great suggestions, but we are eternally grateful for her tip to check out Renzo & Lucia Pasta all'Uovo, a local shop for freshly made pasta. When we arrived, gnocchi was the special of the day, so in addition to the kilo of orecchiette we bought (excellent, by the way) we picked up some fresh gnocchi to have for lunch. Best decision ever. As you can tell by the video above, we were quite pleased with our selection.
